The Golden Ball

Brass ball encircled by a copper bow

In the beginning of the classic fairy tale, The Frog Prince, a young princess mistakenly drops her most prized possession, a golden ball, to the bottom of a deep and murky well. This golden ball holds significance to the tale because it represents the princess. It is suggestive of the importance of wealth in her life. I have made a duplication of this golden ball. Tightly encircling the ball is a feminine bow implying the princess’s smothering greed for wealth.
