Painting tells me how I see the world or, at the very least, how I perceive the world. A rusty nail, a windshield wiper, a window frame... All of these objects suggest life and activity through time.  They are the real materials in my art, discarded and decomposing though they may be.

A discarded object can, in itself, speak volumes. Sometimes an object's decomposing state creates a "new" object that resembles something different, often eloquent yet sometimes humorous.

My paintings are internal narratives and observations that are created by their own elements. As the objects or textures become part of my experiences, my observations or my feelings, they are no longer separate things that I create, but they take on a new, transformed life of their own: The once loved or sought after object can once again be seen as something other than decomposing waste. My art becomes a metaphor for the possibility of all things (and by extension, all of us), to be transformed by art.
