When
designing this piece, I challenged myself to create a wearable object so
visually stimulating that anyone who viewed it would feel the incontrollable
urge to touch it and try it on. As I often do, I also limited myself to working
with recycled materials, available locally.
After
many years of creating wearable art from recycled rubber, I knew just where to
look for my raw material. I rode my bike down the street to my local bike shop,
collected their discarded inner tubes, and transformed them into a tactile and
visual feast.
